Yisak Tafere HAGOS, chercheur invité à l’IMAF

Yisak Tafere HAGOS is an Ethiopian Researcher invited by Université de Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne at IMAF (Campus Condorcet) from the 18th of January 2022 to the 30th of June 2024.

Yisak Tafere HAGOS has an MA in Social Anthropology from Addis-Abeba University and a PhD in Interdisciplinary Child Research from the Norwegian University of Sciences and Technology (NTNU).
He has been the lead qualitative researcher for Ethiopia Young Live (Oxford University) and RISE program (Cambridge University) in Ethiopia. In his last about 18 years of research, Yisak has published more than 30 articles, book chapters, working papers and others.

His research interests include life-course and childhood poverty, intergenerational poverty, well-being and transitions, girls’ early marriage, aspirations and achievements, education, child work, youth development and social protection, youth and conflict.


Research Project (2022-2025) : Conflict and Youth in Ethiopia : Life and Aspirations Disrupted

Building on the last more than 15 years of research with the same children, the new research project aims at understanding how the current war in Ethiopia has impacted the live of the young people. It will document the involvement of young people and the impact the war instigated on their life transitions including education, work, marriage, living arrangement and overall all aspirations.
