Cahiers d’Afrique de l’Est

Call for special issue in The East African Review

Since 1996, The East African Review (Les Cahiers d’Afrique de l’Est) publishes articles in English and French. The studies published fall in various disciplinary fields of the Human and Social Sciences, notably Sociology, Geography, History, Anthropology, Urbanism and Political Science. The East African Review covers several countries of the Great East Africa region, i.e. Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Eastern Congo-DRC, Tanzania and Burundi. It is entirely in open access with the objective of making research available to the largest audience possible and publishes two issues per year.
The thematic issue we call for will be coordinated by one to three researchers and will bring together five to eight articles of approximately 15,000 words, including spaces and bibliography. The coordinators will work closely with the Journal’s editorial board throughout the editorial process.
The coordinators will propose a topic, manage the call for papers, ensure the scientific quality of the articles and conform the texts to the Journal’s editorial rules. They will manage the peer-review process in collaboration with the editorial board. All articles submitted for publication are subject to double-blind review. The board will ensure the editorial work and promotion of the issue. It will also oversee the entire process of preparing the issue, from drafting the call for papers and selecting the articles to the final decision on publication.

Deadline : 1st March 2023
